Mortgage Banker
An originator of mortgages, maybe an individual or institution. They use own funds, or funds taken on loan from warehouse lenders, to create mortgages. After a mortgage is originated, the banker may service the mortgage, or sell these rights to another financial institution. Primary goal is to earn the fees associated with loan origination.
