Limit Order

Limit Order
Instruction given by investor to execute a buy transaction at or below a given price or to execute a sell transaction at or above a given price. The account holder or customer specifies the price that the order should be executed at. This is a conditional trading instruction that allows him to avoid the risk of unfavorable and unpredictable price changes. For example, a limit order with a broker asking him to buy 200 shares of ABC Co at $10 or less.
