Avoid Facebook if You’re Going Through a Divorce!

I just read a very interesting article about social media that got me thinking. If you are going through a divorce avoid social media contact at all costs or it will end up biting you in the wallet!

Social media websites such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter are the gold at the end of the rainbow for lawyers, private eye’s and people in similar fields. People spill their guts on these social media websites because they think it offers some type of anonymity but they are so wrong. It couldn’t be easier for your wifes lawyer for instance to visit your Facebook page and dig up all kinds of dirt that could be detrimental to your wallet.

According to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers a whooping 81% of lawyers have either used a social media website or been faced with evidence from one during a court proceedings. The the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers says Facebook accounts for 66%, Myspace for 15% and Twitter for 5%.

So before you start trying to hook up on your favorite social media website make sure your divorce is final or you will pay for it (pun intended).
