Proceeds From Apple Inc. (Red) Help Fight Aids

Apple has decided to take the initiative of helping Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that work tirelessly against AIDs. The company is taking help of its app developers in inviting customers in the busy shopping season to help achieve its primary objective of a generation that is free of AIDs.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced that from Monday, 24th November, there will be a special section of Apple App store going by the name of Apps for (RED). This section will have exclusive new applications and content that will be sold to Apple buyers. All the proceeds from these applications will directly go to the Global Fund that is being collected by (RED) to fight AIDS.

This is not the only decision Apple has taken for this noble cause. It has also announced that it will donate a portion of its sales from its online and retail stores all over the globe on two of the busiest days of the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. These decisions are aimed at improving the company’s corporate image and show the global community that the company is a global entity that cares about social causes ranging from environmental issues to Gay rights.

Apple’s CFO Tim Cook took great pride in announcing these strategic decisions for a social cause aimed at ending a threatening disease that currently affects 35 million across the world. According to Cook the best gift anyone can give away is the gift of life; therefore it is important for the company to step up and show that it cares.

He talked about how Apple Inc., in the past, raised funds for providing life saving treatment to people of Africa who are suffering from AIDS and expressed his pride in announcing that his initiative was successful in achieving its targets. According to Tim Cook, this will be the biggest fund-raising ever witnessed because of the participation of both Apple’s retail and online stores; he also said that some of the brightest minds in the app market have taken this project to a higher and new level.

The organization (RED) was founded in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver to fight AIDS in Africa where two-thirds of all affected people are found. Now with the help of Apple, it is looking for a complete end to this menacing health issue that claims so many lives every year.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is offering special versions of many different apps during the two week period. The major applications that have joined hands with Apple include Bubble Witch 2, Angry Birds, CSR Racing, Cut the rope 2, Clash of Clans, Despicable Me, FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, DJay’s 2, Farmville 2, Garage Band, Frozen Free Fall, Heads Up!, Kim Kardashian, The Human Body, Monument Valley, Kitchen Stories Cookbook, Puzzle & Dragons, Ray man fiesta run, Toca town and Star Walk 2. In addition to these leading apps, Apple Customers residing in the United States will receive a special edition iPhone gift card with the purchase of some of the selected products and Apple will donate a proportion of the cards value to (RED).
