If you need to purchase flowers this month and you also happen to be a bitcoin enthusiast then 1-800-FLOWERS has you got covered throughout the entire month of July.

The leading floral delivery company announced in a press release Tuesday that throughout the whole month of July it will be accepting bitcoins for online transactions. 1-800-FLOWERS, which will be partnering with Coinbase, added that beginning this fall it will insert the virtual currency to its list of payment options, including PayPal and major credit cards.

Also, bitcoin can be used across its entire network of gifting websites, such as Stockyards.com, ThePopcornFactory.com, Cheryls.com, FruitBouquets.com, 1-800-Baskets.com and others.

1 800 flowersThe purpose of this addition is to offer a convenient method of payment for customers. Using bitcoins will make the payment process for customers simpler and portray the floral retailer as being committed to easy transactions.

Coinbase, meanwhile, noted that 1-800-FLOWERS is another merchant added to its growing list of retailers. “We are excited to partner with 1-800-FLOWERS.COM,” said Fred Ehrsam, co-founder of Coinbase. “Bitcoin is becoming an increasingly popular method to make ecommerce purchases and we’re glad to be helping 1-800-FLOWERS.COM customers make these purchases in an easy and secure way.”

Over the past month, Coinbase has gained several lucrative clients: DISH TV, Expedia, Reeds Jewelers and Digital River Treehouse. Overall, the company maintains partnerships with Mint.com, the Khan Academy, Overstock.com, Fiverr and Bloomberg.
