Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has become one of the biggest technology giants of the year 2014. The multibillionaire company has been providing cloud computing, search engine, softwares, online advertising technologies and now has decided to increase its line of products by adding different gadgets for entertainment purposes.

Up until now most of Google’s profits were generated from its advertising sector, but to increase its revenue and reduce its dependence on advertising the company has started many new projects and ventures.

Google Chrome Cast

One of its exciting products of 2014 is Google Chrome Cast, which is a digital media player run through a small device of about 2.83 inches. The gadget can play both audio and video content by directly streaming the media via Wi-Fi or the internet. The media player displays content on high definition display. The device is a USB, which can be connected to your personal computer. It is also available for Android cell phones Chrome Cast was officially launched on July 24th 2014.

Nexus Player

Another similar product manufactured by Google Inc. is its new Nexus Player, which was released on October the 15th 2014. Nexus Player is also a digital media player, which runs on Google’s own manufactured Android Lollipop 5.0. Nexus media player is the first of its kind to run on Android software. The device has 8GB internal memory with a quad core 1.8 Ghz processor of 1 GB RAM. The player consists of three components, with an initial purchase of 99$ you will get the set top media box and its remote control; however with an extra $40 you can get an exciting optional Nexus game pad as well. The Nexus package is high-end as compared to Chrome Cast.

Android Lollipop 5.0

Google Android Lollipop 5.0 is the most amazing addition in Google’s portfolio. Android 5.0 Lollipop is the latest version of Google’s Android operating system version; it runs on devices of Google’s Play edition including Nexus. This Android came with increasingly new exciting features with more use of layouts based on grids, padding, depth effects, transitions and responsive animation; it also provides a new design of apps menu in which there is a stack of cards (three dimensional) for opening multiple menus and tabs.

The most important enhanced achievement was the replacement of ART, which is a runtime cross platform software, which supports MIPS, x86 along with ARM structures of operating systems with 32 bits and 64 bits. Google launched its app hangout after terminating Google Talk. The app other than sending texts can also provide video chat facility.

(NASDAQ:GOOGL) and HTC that is a combination of physical qualities of HTC and software power of Google Inc. The device was released on November 7th in the US with increasingly new features.
