Facebook wants to expand their operations to Israel

On Monday, Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) confirmed the appointment of Adi Soffer Teeni as the GM and director of the company’s operations there. Soffer Teeni will assist clients with marketing in Israel in addition to leading Facebook’s commercial operations.

Soffer Teeni is also tasked with creating a team of local representatives at their Ramat Gan offices, which will closely collaborate with the Dublin, Ireland Facebook team. Soffer Teeni is 42 and has experience as the as chairman of the Israeli start-up company Ginger Software. The company created English editing software. Moreover, she was once the the managing director of B2C -888 (888.com) and CEO of the Kidum Group. She will report directly to Diego Oliva, who is Facebook’s Regional Director of central and eastern Europe.

Diego Oliva welcomed her by sharing, “Adi’s enthusiasm has helped businesses in Israel succeed and she understands how they can use Facebook to evolve, grow and make profits.” Facebook has conveyed that Israel provides the company with 3.9 million users, monthly. Also, the country has a high daily usage of 70%. In addition, 79% of those users access Facebook via their mobile phones. Currently, within the central and eastern European region, Facebook has 14 offices.
