What to Expect from Apple Inc.’s September 9th Reveal

It is believe that the tech giant Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will finally unveil its smartwatch (iWatch) and the new iPhone 6 at today’s (Tuesday) event. This won’t be all; according to leaks and rumors iOS8 will also make its debut. Moreover due to the simultaneous release of  iPhone and iOS8 it is believed that the new iPhone will be powered by iOS8 – an updated version of the current iOS.

Apple fans have been waiting for this day for a year now and finally it is just a few hours away. Let’s have a look at what the users can expect from today’s event.

iPhone 6

Apple will release the iPhone as two separate products, much like iPhone 5s and 5c; one model of iPhone 6 will feature a 4.7 inch screen whereas the other one will come with a 5.5 inch display screen. Many images of the two versions have been leaked online. This will be Apple’s first ever big screen smartphone, which is all set to compete with Samsung and its incredibly successful Galaxy phones.

Now coming to the iWatch – this would be Tim Cook’s first ever launch in the new product category. Until now he has only worked on upgrading versions of the products that were introduced by Steve Jobs. Many tech companies are looking forward to this launch because they can’t wait to cash in on the success of the gadget, if it gets any. The reason for this apprehension is the disappointing feedback of Samsung’s smartwatch. Some of the features of this smart wearable may include ability to send emails, make calls and play music. It is believed that Apple Inc.’s iWatch, just like iPhone 6, will also come in two models.

Now coming to iOS; as mentioned before it is believed that both these new gadgets will be powered by iOS8 – the latest version of iOS. The most anticipated feature of the iOS8 is the “HealthKit”, which will help the user monitor activities such as blood pressure, heart beat etc. The operating system will also feature “HomeKit” that will allow the user to control automation devices at home such as central heating and lights. It will allow you to inform Siri when you go to bed so the lights could be dimmed down and heating turned off without switching on or off any buttons.

The good news is that users won’t have to buy the iWatch or iPhone 6 to use the new iOS8. They will be able to update their operating systems on their current devices; downloads for the latest version will be free of any cost. However the uploads will only be available on iPhone 4 and the models after that. iPhones older than that have been categorized as Vintage by Apple.

You should also expect some announcement regarding mobile payments. It is believed that iPhone will feature a chip that can be used as the user’s no-contacts debit cards.

Which of these news bits are true, we will find out in just a few hours – the clock is ticking…
