What the Mobile Data Industry Should Expect from Google’s Entry

Google is on its way to providing the world with solutions that not only solve everyday problems but are also efficient and, hence, cheap. There are two ways Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) deals with the issues that the world faces. It deals with issues that the world does not necessarily considers issues (technology which it can do well without). It also deals with issues that the world is currently experiencing.

The first category is in line with the Google X division at Google Inc., which is Google’s free space, where the company researches and develops new designs for technology that the world will need to progress forward in terms of its technological demand. For example, currently, the world can do very well without driverless cars, a project that Google is currently developing under the Google X division. However, if successful, Google will introduce driverless cars to the world, encouraging people to propel forward and utilize the technology that is made available and dismissing the olden ways.

Eventually, driverless cars will become a need for the people, and then Google will focus on how to make it better, which would be in line with the second way the company tries to provide solutions to issues the world faces.

Mobile

A current issue that the world faces is mobile data networking, which is still very limited in its applicability and functionality. It is a well-known fact that Google has been investing a lot of resources lately for the development of an internet service that is available to users all over the world.

Now, according to reports, Google has entered the mobile data business, launching project Nova. Project Nova would be a grand scale project by the company, although Google does not wish to invest too much in the hardware faction of it. The reports which have come into the open suggest that Google would not be investing in the development of its own infrastructure. Instead, the company would utilize the infrastructure currently operated by T-Mobile as well as Sprint, which would make Google’s project Nova a mobile virtual network operator.

As no official announcement about the Nova project has been released by Google Inc. itself, not many details have come into the open about it as well. When asked to comment on the reports which have come into the open regarding the project, Google Inc. representatives declined to comment in that regard.

The more people are on the internet, the better the business of Google will be. Google’s entire monetizing strategy works in a manner that formulates a direct correlation between the number of users on the internet and Google Inc.’s revenue from advertisements.

About Google Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) new project, it is being predicted by industry experts that the new service, whenever it is launched, will offer a cheaper solution to consumers within the US in terms of internet provision, as it would, most probably, be offered without a contract to consumers. As Google has been working hard to eliminate the barriers which exist in the provision of free internet to the world, achieving this feat now does not seem very difficult for a company as wealthy and innovative as Google.
